A Little 'Apivita' Gem

I love the addition of a good ol' face mask in my cleansing routine a couple times a week, don't you?

Who doesn't?

Well, listen up lovers of all things face mask related. I've recently been delving into the world of the 'Apivita' skincare range and absolutely LOVING it. I've come across several products that have worked their way into the essentials section of my cleansing routine (I can assure you this is an incredible feat) and I wanted to give the 'Purifying' face mask a shout out.

This mask is full of a heck of a lot of good stuff that your skin'll thank you for, such as the main ingredient propolis. The whole Apivita brand is centered around honey bees and how they live. So, propolis is what the honey bees collect from tree buds to fill, fix and varnish their beehives. Sounds good right?

The mask's texture is quite grainy so you feel that your skin is getting a good scrub when you are applying the face mask, however the grains aren't hard enough to hurt or cause any irritation to your face. Trust me on this one, I'm in the running for the most sensitive face in the world!

Fancy giving this mask a try? Or anything from the Apivita range? You can have a little browse here. Although, I should probably warn you that you should scroll with caution, you may just end up wanting to buy everything.

Hey, those honey bees know what they're doing.

The Perfect Honey Bee Necklace

Yup, it's true, gifts from your loved ones are fabulous. But gifts to yourself can also be just as good!

I realised this when I was endlessly scrolling around notonthehighstreet and seeing SO many beautiful gifts.

One that really stood out for me was this beautiful bronze honeybee necklace. I was actually really in the market for a honeybee necklace just like this a couple of months ago, but I never even thought to look on this website!

This necklace is by 'Gama' who makes beautiful vintage inspired jewellery pieces. The honeybee necklace is really reminiscent of  the Alex Monroe one, but this one is a massive fraction of the price.

I would serrrriously recommend this beautifully made, dainty necklace as a gift for someone, or as I said earlier, as a gift for yourself.

C'mon, treat yourself.

ILLAMASQUA Lipstick in 'Vega'

Okay, so I officially have a new favourite fall/winter lipstick.

I'd recently heard all about the new Illamasqua range and knew as soon as I saw the website that I instantly wanted to try a couple of their products. Let me tell you, Illamasqua have got you covered!

The lipsticks in particular looked right up my street. (Who am I kidding? Everything looked right up my street). So I was scrolling away in the lipstick section and came across the shade 'Vega' which is this beautiful, dark, deep oxblood red. I must say that 'Posture' was a close second and is likely to be next on the list!

The lipstick packaging itself is absolutely beautiful, and it's contents, even better! So naturally, I happily went to my basket and made my purchase.

I ordered 'Vega' on Monday and it came on the Thursday which I think is reaaally decent considering I just picked standard delivery AND their system was going through an update! I can assure you that this was a lovely surprise to come home from university to.

The formula of the lipstick is just out of this world - no joke. Not too drying but not overly sheen-y either which is a real pet peeve of mine. The colour goes so well with my complexion but I reckon it'd be perfect for all skin tones and hair colours, it's so versatile. It's also incredibly easy to wear with minimal and heavier/formal makeup, so it's an all rounder that transitions very easily. It completely shouts winter in a lipstick.

Have you tried any of the Illamasqua products? I mean, I'm always willing to add a couple more things to my shopping basket...

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair: The Review

EASY Blueberry Muffin in a Mug

I always see posts of different things you can make in a mug and so I decided I should give it a go myself using simple ingredients that you are bound to find in your cupboards and if you don't have the ingredients- simply substitute it for whatever you have!

I make these little blueberry muffins in a mug as a treat from time to time. But, I end up making them at least twice a week- they're that good!

You could make this for your breakfast, for your lunch or your dessert! They take about four minutes to make, including preparation, so it's not time consuming at all.

You know you want to give it a go...

4 TBSP Self Raising Flour
2 TBSP Sugar
A pinch of Baking Powder
3 TBSP Milk
1 TBSP Oil
Blueberries - it's up to you how many you put in

Put the flour, sugar, baking powder, milk and oil into a mug and then mix together with a fork until there are no lumps.

Then, add in however many blueberries you would like to the mixture and mix in lightly to the mixture.

Just pop the mug into the microwave for about 1 minute 10 and you're good to go!

Told you it was easy, eh?

A Well-Overdue October Favourites

So the tail end of September and October have been pretty busy and full months for me. They pretty much consisted of starting my second year at university and trying to get back into the way of a routine again and writing A LOT of essays (cry face).

I thought my first post back should be an overdue favourites so I'll just get right into it!

I have two beauty favourites this month, and the first is the ELF Baked Eyeshadow Palette in 'California'. I feel like this palette is perfect for the autumnal/wintery transitional period with some gorgeous golds, peachy pinks and shimmers as well as some deep purple and grey shadows. There are also some amazing highlight shades in there which I use in the inner corner of my eye and perfect to pop on the brow bone. My second beauty favourite is the Rimmel Exaggerate LipLiner in 'Eastend Snob'. Yup I know everyone has this and raves on about it, but I am definitely jumping on the bandwagon with this one. It really is the perfect pink shade in my opinion. Not too light and frosty, but not too dark either. I don't know what it is with this one but Rimmel hit the nail on the head.

I also have a nail polish favourite which is the colour 'Pick Me Up' by SEVENTEEN and I have not stopped painting this on!! We might have a serious issue here! I've honestly been putting this one, taking it off and then putting it freshly straight back on again, and I don't see this craze stopping anytime soon for me. Although I have just ordered a nail polish that's due to arrive tomorrow, so let's see if it ends up being a game changer...

I have little bit of a random favourite as well for you this month in the way of a tv show. It seemed like all of the tv shows I watched were either finishing for good, or for their mid season break and I felt like I needed something to get me out of the drought. So, I went on Netflix as you do, and came across 'Reign' in the suggestions for you section. Well, I can say that I am HOOKED. The show is about the early life of Mary Queen of Scots and her time in France where she was in the company of the likes of Catherine de Medici, King Henry II of France and Nostradamus. The storyline is incredibly compelling from the get-go, and there is a perfect amount of humor to the show as well. The writing and acting really is fabulous though, so go ahead and give it a watch. I'm sure you'll end up addicted, a bit like me!

My music favourite of the month is actually two songs. The first is by Olly Murs and is called 'Kiss Me'. There's a definite 80s vibe with this one which I absolutely ADORE, my mum always says I was born too late haha! It's just one of those feel good songs that instantly lightens your mood as soon as it starts up. My second favourite song is by Ariana Grande and is called 'Focus'. Now this one just came out on the 30th of October but I have not stopped playing it (or trying, and failing, to learn the dance she does in the music video in my shower). It's very sassy and a real 'take that' song. Also, Jamie Foxx provides faaaabulous vocals on the chorus. Now, don't tell me you aren't tempted to give it a listen..
