Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow

I was in the market for a good contour kit that wasn't too difficult to use and was pretty straightforward. But it needed to be good and work well for my skin. I'm not a makeup artist and so big palettes like the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit just seemed too professional and I wouldn't really know what to do with all of the colours. I'd probably end up just using two or three colours and that sort of feels, to me, like a waste of money.

So, I did some research and one day, just before my birthday, the amazing Lily Pebbles did a YouTube video that reviewed contour kits. Lily talked about having the same problem as me, that some kits really are meant to be used by makeup artists for stage makeup. Not really for everyday use. So, the kit that Lily recommended was the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow. I googled it and it went right on to my birthday list. My birthday came and the contour kit came all wrapped up gorgeously, it was almost too gorgeous to open but I knew that the contents would be stunning if the packaging was really beautiful!

You open the rose gold packaging and on the left hand side is the bronzer which is a beautiful shade, not too grey, not too orange. Just the perfect shade for a contour and bronzer. I just apply this with the Real Techniques Sculpting Brush to the hollows of my cheeks, the sides of my nose, my jawline and my temples.

On the right of the palette is the highlighter. It isn't so much a white highlighter, more a golden highlight. It gives a really stunning highlight that looks beautiful in real life as well as in photos. I just apply this with the Real Techniques Setting Brush to the tops of my cheekbones, staying away from your under eye areas so that you don't bring any more attention to your dark circles if you have any.

As I have said before, I have acne prone skin and so I'm always wary of using a new product. However, this product has not had a bad effect on my skin at all which I am very happy about as it would've been hard to have it sitting in my makeup drawer and not being able to use it!
